I’ve written three books with Dr. Joel Beeke in a series we developed together entitled, Deepen Your Christian Life. With the Lord’s help in the provision of time to study and write, several more books are planned in the series. The purpose of the series is to present in contemporary language some of the major teachings of the greatest Puritans of the seventeenth century. Being avid readers of the Puritans and having been so richly blessed by the deep wells of their knowledge of Scripture, their love of Jesus, their passion for piety, their hatred of sin, and their desire to be in every way pleasing to God the Father–all so abundantly supplied in their writings and sermons, it is our pleasure to do what we can to bring their teachings to the light of our own day.
If you have any interest at all in these riches which have so blessed us, our lives, and our ministries, please be sure to check out the books we’ve written together. It is our sincere prayer that God might use them to bless and feed your soul on the riches of Christ until Christ Himself, in all His holiness, is formed in you.
Sincerely,
Dr. J

“Living by God’s Promises will be enjoyed, whether by a new Christian, a seminary student, or a saint ready to go home to be with the Lord. It masterfully weaves the voices of Puritans as echoes to the voice of our Good Shepherd whose promises are lavish and bountiful. Enjoy this book-use it often, share it with others, and read it slowly to savor the nourishment. It brings not only comfort but an encouragement to holiness.” – David W. Hall, Senior Minister of Midway Presbyterian Church, Powder Springs, Georgia
On Living Zealously: “Jesus redeems, purifying a people who are to be ‘zealous for good works’ (Titus 2:14). With crystal clarity and perceptive practicality, Beeke and La Belle make quite a team. This book lays before us the solid, biblical, personal, pastoral, and urgent need for zeal in the Christian life. When Christianity still shows signs of flabbiness and inertia, these pages ignite with passion and persuasion.” — Derek W. H. Thomas, Senior Minister of First Presbyterian Church, Columbia, South Carolina
On Living in a Godly Marriage: “It is an established, if little known, fact that the Puritans rescued marriage from the dreary ascetic grasp of the Roman Church and returned it to its full, biblical, Christ-centered estate—overflowing with creational joys, pleasures, and duties. In this book, eminent Puritan scholars and pastors Joel Beeke and James La Belle provide us with a rich gift, as they have mined the writings of twenty-nine of the great Puritans and then arranged their wisdom into brilliantly organized user-friendly chapters and subheadings (complete with penetrating study questions)—all done with a skill that only “hands-on” pastors could have. The Puritans were Word-centered wordsmiths, and the chapters are packed full of memorably stated theology and application. What a pleasure to commend this book!” — R. Kent Hughes, Professor of Practical Theology, Westminster Theological Seminary Philadelphia
